Angklung & Gamelan Musical Instruments

Angklung and Gamelan  represent UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (inscribed in 2010) that characterize Indonesian musical instruments. In particular, angklung instrument is made out of bamboo tubes attached to frames so that they have a resonant pitch when it is struck creating a musical octave. In playing of angklung instruments each person of seven or more performers is assigned  to a tone representing one complete set of octaves to produce complete songs. Originated from Indonesia, Angklung is popular throughout Southeast Asia, and had been adopted by its neighboring countries, like Malaysia and the Philippines, where they are played as part of bamboo xylophone orchestras.
